Destin West Rv #48 Motorhome

The location of the campground is excellent for the area. On the other hand, access to the beach is a real pain in the neck. The internet access for streaming did not work the entire time. I was there 5 nights. The staff tried to help, but were not able to resolve the issue.
The campground landscaping is in really poor condition. I doubt that I would return. After a rainstorm my site was a giant puddle of water.

It was good.

Very well groomed and respected place to stay. Great location.
Water pressure is low, but easily compensated with your RV water pump.

Wonderful place to stay

Stayed 3 nights, perfect location to enjoy everything on the island. One tip is to use the overhead crosswalk to get to the beach, the road gets dangerous to walk across because of the heavy traffic.

Had a great time this Oct 2023 at this location. The beach is across the street, and so is the Boardwalk with restaurants and bars. Beautiful beach. Park has nice spots with foliage between sites so they are private. Good cable tv reception. Love staying here.

We love staying at Destin 's clean, quiet and friendly. You have the bay view and beach across the street. A side gate to rent a pontoon boat to spend the day at Crab Island and a boardwalk on the beach just across the street with restaurants everything you need in walking distance...we have been coming here for years. Tried other places but this is the best..... see you next year!!

Great paver spot with private patio. Friendly staff. The use of the resort across the street and access to the beach was perfect and very easy to get to.

We have been staying at Destin West RV for several years. We absolutely love the location right on the bay and across from the beach. The sites are neat and spacious. We had an issue with one of our reservations but Joe (in the office) went above and beyond to make it right. We greatly appreciate his kindness and customer service.

Constructive Criticism
The sand at the sites could use some regular upkeep. Our sites had bottle tops, cigarette butts, and other trash in the sand areas. I’m not sure how often or if ever that sand is cleaned and additional sand is added to the sites.

We have stayed here several years in a row now. Great place to stay and enjoy the beach or the bay. You get all the hotel amenities with this park. My only complaint is the RV park pool is like a sauna. Last year it was the same.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. A few nuances we didn't like was how far the walk was to the spot on the beach where the lounge chairs and umbrellas were ... not too bad though. Having mandatory valet parking was an inconvenience to us. Although the host gives a heads up re only one pot and one frying pan, there were actually 3 of each ... but only a cookie sheet for baking in the oven. The picture windows on two walls was fabulous! It would help to have tie backs for them, though, to take full advantage of the great view. There was no cold water in the kitchen faucet. But, that wasn't really a problem for us. Only one elevator on our end of the building, for all 41 floors. So you usually had to wait quite a while any time you wanted to use it. So, it was helpful being on the 3rd floor, as we had the stairs as an option. You get one towel card per room, which you turn in whenever you get pool or beach towels, and you get it back when you return your towels. The only hitch to that is when you want to go to the beach, and your spouse is at the pool or workout room, and wants a towel there too. With only one card, you can't get towels at two places at once. Although there were "black out" curtains. They don't totally block out the light, as it gets in around all the edges of the curtains. But, that usually is the case with "black out" curtains. There were a number of small roaches in the apartment, including in a cabinet and the silverware drawer. They may have been stirred up during some nearby construction going on in the room. The host said the unit had been fumigated before we came. There was also a leak in the kitchen faucet. But, the host got right on arranging for a repairman to come, when we called him. I've mentioned all these nuances, so that future renters will be informed. But, overall, the unit was clean and well kept up. The host was quick to reply and follow up on things. And we really did enjoy our stay. We recommend it!

We spent 2 weeks and a couple unexpected additional days at this great property. The location is perfect. At the end of our trip, we had a problem with our RV not starting and had to stay until we could get someone to tow it to a shop. The staff were very accommodating in not rushing us to leave as we looked for someone to help on a weekend (not so easy).

Did not like the loud music each night until 3am. It was quite disturbing.

We loved the site with pavers throughout and full hook ups plus a round Picknick table. We also had nice shade in the middle of the park.

Check in was quick, staff is very polite and helpful. The site was very nice but on 3-21-22 the neighbors two sites over in 46 went to bed and left their campfire burning, it filled our camper with smoke at 2am so bad my smoke alarm went off. I had to get dressed, find a bucket and pour 5 gal of water on the fire. Spark embers were blowing in the dry vegetation in the vacant lot next door! I’d expect this at a state park but not at Destin West RV resort at $180 a night. Campfires should not be allowed or at least left unattended. I will not return during spring break, way too many kids. Could not use the pool at all.

We stayed a week and this park did not disappoint. Large sites with privacy we hadn’t experienced previously. The bay view was nice and lovey to have seating to take it in. The beach is close and the pedestrian walkway was appreciated. Would come back again. Very well kept, quiet, clean and friendly.

We had a wonderful time! The sky bridge is a perfect way to cross the busy street to get to the beach with no worries! Can't wait for our next trip!
