Beach Safety

Beach Safety colored flags. Double Red=Closed, Red=High Hazard, Yellow=Medium Hazard, Purple=Marine Wildlife, Green=Low Warning

When you visit the DestinFWB area and Destin West RV Resort, we want you to have a fun and safe experience!  One that will make you want to return year after year (or month after month).  For this, it's vitally important that you follow the beach flag warning system established by Okaloosa County.  While our belove Gulf of Mexico is mighty beautiful, at times it can be dangerous.  When it is (red), just take a photo and stay out of the water.  If purple, just know that the wondrous ecosystem of the ocean is alive and teaming with life.  This could be anything from, jellyfish, stingrays or sharks.  If you choose to swim when it's purple, please exercise extreme caution and be aware of your surroundings at all times!  When it's yellow or green, go play and enjoy with caution!

The Color codes are:

  • Double Red = Closed
  • Red = High Hazard
  • Yellow = Medium Hazard
  • Purple = Marine Wildlife
  • Green=Low Warning

We can't wait for you to experience the beauty of our area.  Get your reservation on the books today and go play!
